  2. Found within Oswald West State Park is Blumenthal Falls. The multi-tier waterfall is at the northern end of Short Sand Beach. The lower tier is visible during low tide.
  3. Lewis and Clark National Historical Park perfectly combines picturesque nature and fascinating history. While here, you can hike along tree-lined trails or learn about Fort Clatsop’s history with ranger programs.
  4. Go for a hike in the Saddle Mountian State Natural Area. This area is known for its array of rare wildflowers and a panoramic viewpoint at the 3,288-foot summit. While the main trail is steep and can be difficult, there are plenty of other less rigorous climbs.
  5. Take in a shipwreck from 1906 by visiting Fort Stevens State Park in Astoria. The park was once home to a fort that saw service for over eight decades. Today, there are 15 miles of multi-use trails and ranger-guided kayak tours.

Ecola State Park

Ecola offers trails with cliff-slide viewpoints of secluded coves, forested promontories and an abandoned lighthouse. There are several different trails you can take to walk through the park, some longer than others. Some of the trails are considered historical interpretive routes. Stop for a picnic on any of the trails, and keep an eye open for the park’s wildlife, like deer, elk, and eagles!
