- Located in nearby Arch Cape, Hug Point State Recreation Site has an easy-access beach and endless scenic beauty. During your visit to this spot, go for a short walk to find a seasonal waterfall and caves in the sandstone cliffs.
- Found within Oswald West State Park is Blumenthal Falls. The multi-tier waterfall is at the northern end of Short Sand Beach. The lower tier is visible during low tide.
- Lewis and Clark National Historical Park perfectly combines picturesque nature and fascinating history. While here, you can hike along tree-lined trails or learn about Fort Clatsop’s history with ranger programs.
- Go for a hike in the Saddle Mountian State Natural Area. This area is known for its array of rare wildflowers and a panoramic viewpoint at the 3,288-foot summit. While the main trail is steep and can be difficult, there are plenty of other less rigorous climbs.
- Take in a shipwreck from 1906 by visiting Fort Stevens State Park in Astoria. The park was once home to a fort that saw service for over eight decades. Today, there are 15 miles of multi-use trails and ranger-guided kayak tours.
