The Spring Unveiling Arts Festival

“Mirror, Mirror” by Susan Simon
Thirteen Cannon Beach art galleries invite you to attend the 16th annual Spring Unveiling Arts Festival.
Each gallery will be hosting special events and viewings throughout the weekend, celebrating the newest works of their featured artists. Much of the art is inspired by the natural beauty of Oregon, with work in several media, including paintings and illustrations to sculpture, jewelry and glass. Each of the participating galleries will host artist receptions from 6 to 8pm on Saturday night. More information about the featured artists and their works, and a complete list of special events are online.
Additionally, there is a special “Foodie” element to added to the weekend event. Cannon Beach ‘s local chefs, candy makers and coffee houses have partnered with the galleries, selecting a work of art that has inspired them to create their own edible art for the weekend. For example, The Bistro’s Chef Matt Dueber is presenting an Asian style “Crab in the Shell” hors d’oeuvre drawing his inspiration from Christopher Mathie’s painting of a crab, entitled “Tougher Than You Think” at White Bird Gallery. After seeing the metal garden sculptures of roses, poppies and daisies created by Richard Hays at Haystack Gallery, Brian Taylor of Bruce’s Candy Kitchen was inspired to create a collection of “Floral Fragrance Flavored Truffles.”
